Hips expansion will hit home sellers, says National Homebuyers

Press Release Author: National Homebuyers

Industry: Real Estate

Press Release Summary: The expansion of Home information packs (Hips) to properties
with three or more bedrooms is bad news for home sellers.

Press Release Body: That is according to Conservative shadow housing minister Grant
Shapps, who labelled the packs \"pointless red tape\".

His comments follow the announcement that Hips are to become a part of the home
selling process for properties with three or more bedrooms from September 10th.

\"The announcement that this pointless red tape is going to be imposed on three
bedroom homes from September means many more people will now face extra cost and
bureaucracy when they buy or sell their homes,\" said Mr Shapps.

\"Gordon Brown claims to be on the side of homeowners but behind the rhetoric he has
already penalised them for ten years with higher stamp duty and council tax.

\"Pushing ahead with Home information packs will just make life harder and more
expensive for people buying and selling property,\" he added.

Julian King from fast property purchase leaders, National Homebuyers says: \"The
responsibility of getting and paying for a Hip will lie with the home seller.

\"With the average price likely to be around £400 - £600, there will be many that
will seek an alternative way of selling their home.

\"In July we saw a huge increase in the volume of business we were conducting. Partly
because homeowners were either confused about or unwilling to shell out for a Hips
pack. We predict a similar situation leading up to the September 10th roll out.\"

National Homebuyers are the UK\'s leading \'sell home fast\' company, guaranteeing a
quick sale on every property surveyed, regardless of the vendor\'s reasons for
selling.
